Consumption Comparison: Model 3 Beats Mercedes Rival, but Falters on Charging

In a recent comparison test by EAM, the Tesla Model 3 continues to prove very efficient in terms of energy consumption. Compared with the Mercedes CLA 250+ EQ, once announced as a kind of "1-liter car" of the electric world, the Model 3 came out on top in consumption. In this test, the Tesla Model 3 Premium RWD achieved a consumption of around 15.7 kWh per 100 km, at an average speed of 117 km/h and a maximum of 130 km/h. The Mercedes CLA 250+ EQ came in at 16.9 kWh in the same comparison. Charging, however, tells a different story: charging from 10 to 80 percent took the Tesla 34 minutes, while the Mercedes, thanks to its 800-volt platform, was finished after just 22 minutes. The result fits the picture painted by this EAM comparison test: the Model 3 impresses in driving operation with low energy demand, but loses out to the Mercedes' newer 800-volt technology when it comes to charging.
