Controversial: Tesla Advertises FSD Safety Data in Europe

Tesla is advertising its "Full Self-Driving" (FSD) driver assistance system in Europe with its own safety data, which is intended to suggest a significantly lower accident frequency. However, the figures are controversial because the basis for comparison and the methodology are being questioned. Critics point out that the statistics are not readily comparable with general accident data and could therefore paint an overly positive picture. In Europe, FSD also remains restricted by regulation. At the same time, Tesla is continuously working on software updates – such as version 2026.8.3 – that bring new features and improvements to the vehicle fleet. For Model 3 drivers, the question of the benefits and limits of the assistance systems thus remains highly topical.
